Hi I’m Katie…

Making clothing for myself from an early age, I knew this was something that was a part of me and the direction I wanted to take my life in.

This path took me to graduating with a first-class bachelors degree in fashion before moving to London to work with small burgeoning designers as a pattern cutter and sample machinist.

Absorbing everything there was to learn and gaining experience in womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, bridal and made to measure couture.

After relocating to the North Yorkshire countryside at the end of 2020, I knew the time was coming for me to finally start my own brand - THE lifelong dream.

Working freelance with other brands to pay the bills while imagining, designing and building in the background. I knew I wanted to create something that drew on my love for quality clothing and consciousness for sustainable living.

By 2022, D+L in the form you’d recognise today. The brand taking its name from the Welsh emblems the Daffodil and the Leek, a nod to my heritage and the beautiful land that shaped me.
